Custom Audeze Headphone Cable

A great headphone cable should be built with equal consideration for performance, materials, and comfort. This custom cable for ZMF headphones was designed around all three.

At its core is Cardas 4 × 24 AWG balanced copper wire—some of the finest copper wire available. Rather than simply using the Cardas cable in its original configuration, each conductor is carefully harvested from the factory geometry and rebuilt by hand. It’s a time-intensive process that takes a couple of hours for each cable, but it allows us to create something distinctly our own from an exceptional starting material.

The four Cardas conductors are hand-twisted and insulated with a combination of cotton and PTFE (Teflon), creating a finished cable that is supple, comfortable, and easy to live with during long listening sessions.

The headphone end is terminated with Furutech 3-pin mini-XLR connectors, with your choice of a 4-pin XLR or 6.3 mm (1/4") TRS connector at the amplifier end.

The result is a thoughtfully constructed, completely hand-built headphone cable using exceptional materials throughout—without sacrificing the flexibility and comfort a headphone cable should have.
